Dover Sea Port

In 2007 the Port of Dover was utilised by over 3 million passenger vehicles and 18 million people as they made their way from Kent across the English Channel via the shortest route from the UK to continental Europe.

Within the port terminal there are six main buildings, Foot Passenger Embarkation, the East, West and Central Passenger Service Buildings as well as the arrivals hall. Each of these buildings as shops and eating facilities including Franklins of Boston, Barnacles Bar, Burger King, Barnacles Bar, and Cafe Ritazza.

The building is also offer other resources such as baby changing areas, shower facilities, disabled facilities, there are several children's play areas as well as game zones.

The two major port areas are the Western located at CT17 9TG and the Eastern located at CT16 1JA. To reach the ports you can take the M2 then follow the signs for the A2 directly to Dover and the terminals.

Alternatively the M 20 will lead you to the A20 then follow the signs for the Eastern ferry terminal. Dover port car parking facilities are plentiful for short-term parking for arrivals and departures. Dover port parking facilities for long-term needs are extremely restricted in number.

There are several operators plying the short route to France including P & O Stena Line to Calais taking 90 minutes, SeaFrance to Calais 90 minutes, Norfolkline to Dunkerque a two hour crossing, which is the best route to reach other areas of Europe including Switzerland, Holland and Belgium.
