Southampton International Airport

Southampton airport is located at the town of Eastleigh, in 2007 the airport saw a large increase in traffic which allowed it to handle a fraction under 2 million passengers. It has been used as an airport since back in 1910 when pioneer aviator Eric Moon used it as a takeoff and landing spot for his Moonbeam monoplane.

Before security there are several shops including WHSmith's, ICE bureau de change, Lagenza jewellery. After passing through security you will find World Duty Free, WHSmith's, T-box clothing and swimwear as well as several other smaller outlets.

The airport caters to children with a viewing gallery at the end of the terminal, the main concourse is home to a baby care facilities, there are also baby friendly unisex toilets, and children's menus are available at most food outlets.

Food and beverage can be found at the Aura café before passing through security which offers dishes and pieces as well as English breakfast. They also have a large selection of hot and cold drinks as well as beers and wines. In the secure area you will find a bar offering cappuccinos and cold drinks as well as sandwiches and pizzas as well as a large number of bar snacks.

Satellite navigation directions will use the code SO18 2NL. Heading out of Southampton the M 27 will take you directly to the airport at junction 5. If using the M3 you should take junction 14 and then the M 27 E. to junction 5. The airport is also easily accessible from the A34.

Southampton airport parking offers a small number of short-term parking spaces. Southampton airport car parking for long-term needs only has a very limited number of parking spaces available.

Southampton offers a large number of destinations mostly within Europe including Brussels, Belfast, Alicante, Ibiza, Amsterdam, Manchester, Paris and Prague.

Near the airport there are a considerable number of hotel rooms available including the chalet style Hilton Southampton, the Macdonald Botley Park Hotel, the Holiday Inn, Meon Valley Marriott and the Jurys Inn.
